Basingstoke (Verenigd Koninkrijk), 25 oktober 2002 --- Quantum, vooraanstaand leverancier van oplossingen voor databeveiliging, maakt bekend dat de Quantum DX30 per 15 november aanstaande in Europa beschikbaar is. De DX30 is het enige op schijf gebaseerde back-upsysteem dat in staat is een automatische tapesysteem te emuleren. Door gebruik te maken van de Quantum DX30 kunnen ondernemingen afrekenen met hun grootste uitdaging: het snel en betrouwbaar creëren van back-ups, tegen een betaalbare prijs, zonder de bestaande opslagstructuur geweld aan te doen.
De Quantum DX30 bestaat uit een combinatie van hardware en software in een gecomprimeerd platform. Het back-upsysteem vermindert het tijdbeslag dat nodig is om een back-up en herstel opdracht uit te voeren van kritische gegevens in een netwerk. Dankzij de eigenschap dat een naadloze samenwerking mogelijk is met bestaande automatische tapesystemen en de gering invloed op de operationele procedures, kan de Quantum DX30 snel worden ingezet binnen de bestaande backup-omgeving, zonder dat er sprake is van enige onderbreking.
“De Quantum DX30 gaat meer pijnpunten bij klanten oplossen voor minder geld dan om het even welk ander op schijf gebaseerd back-up systeem in de markt,” zegt Dave Kenyon van de Quantum Storage Solutions Group. “De Quantum DX30 is het best presterende back-up product in zijn prijsklasse.” Quantum heeft in het uiteindelijke ontwerp de reacties meegenomen van meer dan veertig verschillende beta-gebruikers.

De Quantum DX30 is vanaf 15 november via het geselecteerde Quantum verkoopkanaal in Europa verkrijgbaar. Deze wederverkopers hebben een grondige training ondergaan om zich Quantum VAR Certified Reseller te mogen noemen. De verkoopprijs bedraagt 56.500,00 dollar.
