UTRECHT, 2 juni 2009 – Sybase (NYSE: SY), de leverancier van software voor mobiel werken, is door Gartner gepositioneerd in het ‘leaders’ kwadrant voor Enterprise Wireless E-Mail software van mei 2009. De Mobile Office software van het bedrijf wordt ook beschreven in een ander onderzoek van Gartner, genaamd ‘Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Wireless E-mail Software’. iAnywhere Mobile Office is een goed beveiligde complete oplossing voor mobiele email en het mobiliseren van bedrijfsprocessen. Het maakt de Lotus Domino en Microsoft Exchange email systemen van bedrijven toegankelijk voor bijna elk mobiel apparaat, waaronder de iPhone en Windows Mobile of Symbian gebaseerde telefoons en PDA’s.
Sybase heeft onlangs ook haar Afaria management- en beveiligingsoplossing uitgebreid met ondersteuning van de Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM) standaard. Daardoor is Afaria compatibel geworden met ruim een miljard mobiele telefoons die worden geleverd met een voorgeïnstalleerde OMA-client. Steeds meer leveranciers zien OMA DM als een industriestandaard voor basis apparatuurbeheer. Door toevoeging van Afaria ontstaat een totaaloplossing voor zowel het operationele beheer als de beveiliging van mobiele apparatuur.
