Cosa Mesa, Calif. / Amstelveen, 5 oktober 2006 – FileNet Corporation, toonaangevend leverancier van Enterprise Content en Business Process Management oplossingen, heeft bekendgemaakt dat de aandeelhouders goedkeuring hebben gegeven voor overname door IBM. Hiermee wordt voldaan aan een van de sluitende transactievoorwaarden. Tijdens een speciale bijeenkomst in het FileNet hoofdkantoor op 3 oktober jongstleden hebben de aandeelhouders de overeenkomst en het voornemen tot overname (daterend van 9 augustus 2006) aangenomen en daarmee de fusie goedgekeurd.
FileNet kondigde eerder aan dat op 21 september jongstleden de wachtperiode - vereist door de Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act uit 1976 – voor IBM’s voorgenomen overname van FileNet was verlopen. De overname, aangekondigd op 10 augustus 2006, wordt momenteel getoetst aan buitenlandse anti-kartel regelementen. De organisatie verwacht de transactie medio oktober af te ronden.
