In December 2005, Ginsters (www.ginsters.co.uk), UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of snack products, has taken into production a new online ordering solution that enables its customers to have full control over their forecasted deliveries. The system was provided by Catorg, a virtual European network of communication and new media specialists.
As an important supplier of snack products to a large number of retail organisations in the UK, Ginsters continuously tries to improve insight in stock levels, orders and overall sales performance. Allowing clients to alter orders through the internet was considered essential to achieve this goal, as well as a way to enhance customer service.
Total UK will be the first customer to work with the new ordering solution that produces daily performance reports and has the ability to download order information order directly to wireless handheld terminals. The solution proved to be decisive in the comparison between Ginsters and its competitors.
The solution uses Datheon™ meta-data technology, ensuring flexibility in terms of application and data-structures, as well as full exchangeability of data via the generic XML interfaces.
