AMSTERDAM, 12 januari 2006 - Forrester Consulting heeft in opdracht van Compuware een onderzoek uitgevoerd naar de voordelen van het implementeren van Changepoint, Compuware's oplossing voor IT Governance en geïntegreerd beheer.
Het onderzoek toont aan dat de 'return on investment' bij de ondervraagde organisaties tot circa 134 procent van de totale investeringen heeft geleid. Bovendien is gebleken dat, indien potentiële risico's worden meegenomen, een return van 95 procent kan worden verwacht met een break-even investeringsperiode van 37 maanden na de ingebruikname van Changepoint. Changepoint maakt het voor CIO's mogelijk om IT-portfolio's te beheren, meer effectiviteit te bereiken en een hogere kwaliteit van IT-diensten te leveren. De meest genoemde redenen om deze oplossing aan te schaffen, zijn kostenbesparingen, productiviteitsverbeteringen, verbeterd gebruik van hulpbronnen, een stijging van het aantal succesvolle projecten en een verbetering van de efficiency van de operationele IT. Maar ook de gebruiksvriendelijkheid, flexibiliteit en geïntegreerde functionaliteiten bleken veel genoemde voordelen te zijn.
In het onderzoek kwam naar voren dat IT-afdelingen met het implementeren van Changepoint een kwantificeerbare impact kunnen realiseren op de volgende gebieden:
- Doordat er meer inzicht is in de status van projecten, worden projecten beter begroot. Daarnaast worden projecten beter binnen de begrote tijdsplanninguitgevoerd, wat het aantal succesvolle projecten vergroot.
- Bedrijven kunnen meer balans aanbrengen tussen de voorraad van hulpmiddelen en mensen en de vraag hiernaar.
- Meer operationele IT-efficiency doordat handmatige processen kunnen worden geautomatiseerd.
- Door een compleet overzicht van alle plannen in één systeem kunnen de projecten snel worden opgespoord. Hierdoor is het mogelijk dubbel uitgevoerde en slecht presterende projecten snel op te sporen en te verwijderen.
- Klanten kunnen met Changepoint bestaande governance-systemen vervangen door één geïntegreerde oplossing. Hiermee wordt bespaard op administratiekosten, het onderhoud en de ondersteuning.

Study Also Points to Improved Resource Utilization, Project Success and Operational Efficiency for Changepoint Customers
Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced the results of a new study conducted by Forrester Consulting and commissioned by Compuware. The study discovered benefits from implementing the Compuware Changepoint IT governance and management solution, including cost savings, improved resource utilization, increased project success rate and enhanced IT operational efficiency.
Based on interviews with four Changepoint customers-one each in the health care, financial services, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries-Forrester Consulting found the non-risk adjusted (best case) return on investment (ROI) for the companies surveyed to be 134 percent of the investment. The survey also found that, when factoring potential risk, a 95 percent return could be expected with a break-even investment term of 37 months after deployment of Changepoint. Forrester also determined that faster payback periods were realized by organizations with more mature IT governance processes in place prior to the implementation of Compuware Changepoint. In the report, Forrester highlighted the benefits of companies adopting an IT governance solution: "Based on these findings, companies looking to implement an IT Governance and Management solution can see the opportunity for cost savings and productivity improvements by implementing Compuware Changepoint.
