Technology Enables Customers to Build Composite Applications that Interact with Data from SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel and Oracle E-Business Suite Applications
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sept. 29, 2005 — Furthering its commitment to helping customers extend, protect and evolve their existing information technology investments, Oracle today announced the Oracle® Portlet Factory development tool to enable organizations to easily integrate and interact with information pulled from enterprise business applications via an enterprise portal.
As companies take advantage of the benefits of Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs), portlets are a key enabler for leveraging data from heterogeneous systems for use in portals and composite applications. The Oracle Portlet Factory helps organizations significantly enhance their ability to integrate data from disparate applications. For example, Oracle Portlet Factory includes an integrated portlet development environment and an SAP adapter, which simplifies the process of building portlets for SAP applications. Developers can use the adapter to easily drag-and-drop SAP functional components into portlets that can be accessed through an organization’s internal or external portal. With Oracle Portlet Factory, developers can also build portlets to JSR-168, the industry standard enabling interoperability between portlets and portals.
