Almere and Amsterdam, August 31, 2005 - Hopling Technologies, a global leader in wireless networking equipment for enterprises, operators and service providers, today announced the commercial availability of the newest version of Hopling Technologies sophisticated HopWARE software for intelligent wireless meshed network solutions. The company is also proud to announce that HotSpot Amsterdam updated its operational network in one weekend using the new scripting update facilities of the release.
Last month Hotspot Amsterdam and Hopling Technologies were invited to attend the McKinsey Global Telecoms Conference, to demonstrate a Mesh Wifi Network, based on a pre-release of 2.3, for use of conference guests. The network was designed to demonstrate the capabilities of WiFi Mesh Networking for Internet access across the site, and demonstrate the potential for WiFi VoIP Mobile phone calls. The demo network was built up in less than one hour, was operational for the duration of the event, and was utilized by a large number of conference guests, and various demonstrations of VoIP over WiFi were successfully completed.
Version 2.3 of the HopWARE software delivers extensive Quality of Services and Voice over Internet Protocol for WiFi based on standard SIP technology. In addition to the new VoIP enabled capabilities, version 2.3 provides new automated features that speed installation and improve service quality. Due to the intelligent update scripting facilities installing the new release is just a matter of typing the right command. The software includes a number of features to create multiple virtual networks, to ease installation and management of a broadband wireless infrastructure for both enterprises and service providers and, in particular, delivers new revenue opportunities and improved profitability for wireless Internet Service Providers.
“This new edition of the HopWARE software gives us the chance to truly touch base with our customers offering them a wealth of Internet services including VoIP,” said Carl Harper, Founder of HotSpot Amsterdam. “SIP based VoIP over WiFi substantial increases revenue for wireless Internet Service Providers like HotSpot Amsterdam to generate more revenue from their existing broadband wireless infrastructure.”
Ivo van Ling, Chief Technology Officer at Hopling Technologies, added “HotSpot Amsterdam proves our case that meshed network solutions are the only cost-effective way to implement city-wide metropolitan networks. We are pleased with the wide acceptance of our latest release of our HopWARE product line.”
Version 2.3 of the HopWARE software is available immediately. Hopling Technologies customers can receive the new HopWARE software release from Hopling Technologies at no additional cost.
HotSpot Amsterdam plans to continue working with Hopling Technologies to further expand its VoIP-based seamless meshed network throughout Amsterdam. Announcements of future deployments are expected later this year.
