Munich, Germany, May12, 2004 ?Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company, announced its financial results* today. President and CEO Adrian v. Hammerstein announced that the company delivered a profit before tax of €62* million for the 2003/2004 fiscal year running from April
2003 to March 2004. This represents an increase by nearly a factor of eight over the previous fiscal year, and is €5 million higher than the last forecast given in March 2004. Revenue is nearly flat at €5,288* million compared to €5,337 million in the previous year.
In addition, Fujitsu Siemens Computers recorded unit volume growth of more than 20* percent. Gross margin remained stable at 15.1* percent, despite intense competitive pressure in the market. The company also cut operating expenses before restructuring by more than four percent*.
"We are pleased with our overall performance. Not only did we substantially strengthen our profitability, we have also continued to sharpen our strategic focus, which is well aligned to the requirements of our customers and the market," said Adrian v. Hammerstein, CEO of Fujitsu Siemens Computers.
Outlook: Continued performance ahead of market For the upcoming fiscal year, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is aiming for 5 percent revenue growth (at current exchange rates) and to continue to outgrow the market by at least 5 percent. The company's primary growth areas are defined as: Mobiles, servers, and supporting services.
