The Hague and Bellevue, Wash., 7 April 2004 – KPN The Netherlands, a subsidiary of KPN (Amsterdam, NYSE, London, Frankfurt: KPN), the largest mobile operator in The Netherlands, announced today that it will use technology from InfoSpace Mobile, a leading provider of mobile data infrastructure, tools and applications and a business of InfoSpace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP), to improve the purchase experience for mobile data subscribers.
The deal expands the long-standing relationship between KPN and InfoSpace Mobile.

KPN will use the Modalyst™ Storefront Management solution to enable a unified storefront for many types of wireless data products while offering enhanced segmentation, bundling and promotion capabilities. Further, KPN will leverage the Modalyst™ Storefront Management solution to quickly deploy and promote new and seasonal value added services, monitor user adoption in real time, and tweak offer packages for optimal performance. Initially, the Modalyst™ Storefront Management solution will be implemented for the short messaging service (SMS) storefront on KPN’s www.hi.nl youth branded website. KPN’s future plans call for extending the unified storefront to the www.kpn.com portal and widening the service scope to include MMS services, browsing applications and client-based downloads.
The solution allows the carrier marketers to create and price specialized offers/bundles for specific segments or groups of customers. For example, the Modalyst™ Storefront Management solution can be used to create a bundled package for soccer fans which contains SMS final score alerts coupled with an MMS game highlight service.
