Het drank- en voedingsmiddelenconcern zal door IBM ondersteund worden in haar GLOBE programma waarmee ze via SAP haar wereldwijde bedrijfsprocessen efficiënter in gaat richten. IBM was al betrokken bij de ontwikkeling en het testen van het nieuwe systeem. De samenwerking maakt deel uit van een concernbreed initiatief dat Nestlé meer voordeel moet bieden van haar wereldwijde schaalgrootte.

IBM extends important service contract with Nestlé.
IBM to Offer Global SAP Configuration Services to support Nestlé's GLOBE Business Excellence Program.
Zurich, March, 2004 -- IBM announced today that Nestlé, the world's largest food and beverage company, has chosen IBM as one of the main suppliers to deliver configuration, development and support services to their GLOBE Business Excellence Program, after being involved in the development and testing of the new worldwide platform. The new contract will run for 3 years.
With its GLOBE Business Excellence Program, Nestlé is to harmonize and roll out best business practices, standardize data and consolidate and standardize its business processes worldwide in a common system. IBM has been involved in the GLOBE Program since its inception in 2000 and has partnered with Nestlé for hardware, software, services and consulting ever since. IBM will provide remote SAP configuration, development and testing services to the Nestlé GLOBE Centers around the world and the GLOBE Business Technology Centre based in Vevey, Switzerland.
