Salt Lake City - October 20, 2003 - LANDesk Software, a leader in unified desktop, server and mobile device management software, today announced it has recorded the company's 13th consecutive quarter of operating profitability. Third quarter revenues for 2003 increased by 66 percent over the same quarter last year. The company reported year-over-year increases in third quarter license sales for its LANDesk® Management Suite to both new and existing customers, as well as maintenance contract renewals, and OEM product sales.
"In this quarter, we saw excellent results in all aspects of our business around the world, with a significant sales increase in our North American region during this past quarter," said Joe Wang, president and chief executive officer of LANDesk Software. "We have worked hard to develop and offer high quality solutions that help our customers minimize costs and risks associated with systems management in an enterprise environment. The increase in customer demand and the resultant sales increase give us an excellent indication that we are on the right track."
The company realized increased sales from nearly every region worldwide as a result of increased LANDesk sales efforts, successful channel development, and market momentum with the company's flagship systems management product, LANDesk Management Suite.
We are obviously excited about the increase in sales, but recognize that this is in part due to the 2002 economic climate and the stall in Q3 2002 sales due to organizational changes as a result of the company's spin-out from Intel.
"We are pleased with the exceptional growth we are achieving and believe it is in large part because of our innovation and execution", said Bert Young, chief financial officer for LANDesk Software. "We also recognize that the organizational changes we are making as part of the company's spin-out from Intel during this quarter last year had an affect on our sales. However, Q3 2003 was the best we have had in six years and the best since the spin-out. This and the operating profitability we continue to achieve are very positive considering the continued investment we are making to grow the business."
