London - Reuters (LSE: RTR, NASDAQ: RTRSY), the global information company, today announced the appointment of Stephen Naru, (46) as Head of Global Public Relations effective 4 August 2003. In this newly created role he will lead a global team responsible for Public Relations activities in support of the company's strategy and brand.
Naru brings to Reuters a strong background in PR consultancy and communications. He joins from Fleishman-Hillard International Communications in NY where he was Senior Vice President & Partner and following other senior agency and in-house roles from such firms as Burson-Marsteller and Ludgate Communications.
Naru is a graduate of the US Military Academy, West Point and holds Masters of Arts degrees in Journalism from Michigan State University and International Relations from University of Southern California.
Naru is based in New York and reports to Simon Walker, Director of Corporate Communications.
