This solution provides organisations with secure access and authorisation management across a heterogeneous IT environment, enabling them to securely extend their business domain and access to markets in compliance with the highest standards for electronic security and the emerging legislative framework on digital signatures. Building on previous interoperability work between both companies, Baltimore has created a fully integrated solution that removes the complexity traditionally associated with issuing and managing digital certificates and digital signatures.
Using Baltimore’s core authentication and authorisation technologies, this solution enables companies to dynamically generate digital certificates, manage security policies and rigorously enforce access to any resource according to end-user privileges. Trusted Portal for Oracle has been designed for optimal exploitation of Oracle Internet Directory and the other security-oriented features in Oracle9i Application Server. The solution is unique in that it has been pre-configured, packaged and ‘Blueprinted’ to ensure easy – out of the box – implementation, use and management enabling organisations to seamlessly provision, manage and enforce end-user credentials. The Trusted Portal for Oracle extends strong authentication and authorisation security into the broader heterogeneous enterprise environment, enabling enterprise-wide single sign-on to any web and non-web based applications.

Based entirely on industry standards, this solution provides unified security across all Oracle9iAS Portal web resources, including legacy systems. Administration of users’ credentials and entitlements is performed using the Simple Delegated Manager, an intuitive interface which supports sub-delegation to multiple tiers, closely mirroring real-world business structures. Uniquely resources, applications, information and 9iASPortlets can also be managed using this interface.
Trusted Portal for Oracle is part of Baltimore’s new range of pre-configured, packaged and ‘Blueprinted’, out of the box solutions. Its security features can be seamlessly extended to support areas such as Messaging, Networks and virtual Workplace applications including electronic forms and documents.

The Trusted Portal for Oracle solution is available immediately, and will be jointly sold across EMEA by Oracle and Baltimore.
