Barneveld, The Netherlands - November 26, 2002 - Baan, the leading enterprise application provider for industrial enterprises and part of Invensys plc, has announced the creation of a worldwide solution sales and delivery organization. By integrating its sales initiatives on a global basis, Baan will build on the strength of its operations in more than 60 countries by adding new capability to support the increasing number of industrial companies operating internationally.
The new organization will be led by Susan Heystee, executive vice president, worldwide solution sales and delivery. Heystee was president of Baan Americas.
"More and more industrial companies are faced with the challenges of operating manufacturing facilities in multiple regions of the world," Heystee said. "This creates daunting challenges for executives who are also under great competitive pressure to reduce costs, reduce cycle times and increase profits.
"Baan has been built as a world leader in enterprise software by delivering high-quality products and support to companies on a local level. This strong local execution will leverage the benefits of the new worldwide organization and will form the foundation on which we will help global companies get maximum value from their current and future investment in enterprise software."
As President of Baan Americas since February 2001, Heystee has led the company's re-emergence as an enterprise software leader among industrial companies in North and South America. The success of Baan Americas has been based in large part on Heystee's early identification of the need among industrial companies for a consultative relationship with the software application providers.
"Susan Heystee has distinguished herself as a sales executive with an exceptional ability to anticipate what our customers will need and to help set the direction of our strategy and products to deliver on those needs," said Laurens van der Tang, president, Baan. "The progress Susan has made building a comprehensive sales strategy and sales team in the Americas makes her the ideal executive to lead our new global integration initiatives and take Baan to a new level of sales success."
"As a company with a well-established global operation, Baan has vast experience addressing the special challenges facing companies with international operations," said Katherine Jones, PhD, managing director, Enterprise Applications, Aberdeen Group, Inc. "By organizing their sales and delivery operations internationally, Baan is well-positioned to take full advantage of this unique insight for the benefit of their customers. As a seasoned sales executive whose career has had an international focus, Susan Heystee will bring excellent capabilities to this job."
Prior to being named Baan Americas President, Heystee was senior vice president of Field Operations where she was responsible for sales and consulting in the Americas. She also has served as vice president of Baan Americas services. Heystee joined Baan in 1997 as vice president of the Baan Americas consulting practice. She has more than 16 years experience in the enterprise software market.
