GroupWise is a groupware system designed to allow users to work together and share information across Novell server networks. Novell GroupWise servers generally perform the role of ‘information gateways’ as they simply distribute information without storing it. This means that antivirus software cannot scan mail messages and therefore makes it considerably easier for an infected file to reach a workstation.
To resolve this situation messages need to be intercepted as they pass through the Novell GroupWise server, which is precisely what GroupWise Antivirus Agent (GWAVA) does.
