Posten Sverige AB, the Swedish postal service, has signed a licensing agreement with StreamServe, a leader in the emerging market of Enterprise Business Communications. The deal, an extension of the license contract signed in December 2001, will see Posten use StreamServe’s Business Communication Platform for the majority of its existing and future electronic services - initially for e-mail, ePostbox, its Internet mail delivery system, and the printing of approximately 300 million letters and invoices per year. StreamServe will also become the sixth supplier to sign a comprehensive service contract with Posten Sverige AB.
“We see the deal as highly strategic and as a great acknowledgement of our Business Communication Platform”, says Nick Earle, CEO of StreamServe. “Posten is the most transaction-intensive company in Scandinavia. StreamServe will now have a role in Posten’s central infrastructure, which I see as a strong endorsement for our product in dealing with large volumes of information, invoices, mail and correspondence. Over the past year, there has been a clear trend towards increased electronic communication between supplier and customer. With The Business Communication Platform, the latest technology, we can help companies connect up to withtheir customers’ business systems and create new solutions for unified distribution, storage and control of all electronic and printed communication. and relevant printouts.”” says Earle.
“Over the past year, the there has been a clear trend towards increased electronic communication between supplier and customer,” continues Earle.
”“ Now we have a fast and unified communication platform for the majority of our digital services,” says Susanne Flyckt, head of Posten Outsourcing. “StreamServe’s platform means that we can quickly connect new customers and start developing new documents. We can cut costs for existing connections and it will be easier for us to build new services. Furthermore, larger enterprises will have even easier access to our portfolio of electronic services .””
”This contract is part of our investment in the electronic distribution of communications such as telephone bills, order confirmations and marketing letters etc., but it’s also a technical simplification for connecting with ePostbox,” continues Susanne Flyckt.”.
Ten personnel are currently working on the implementation of the StreamServe project. The new StreamServe solution is partly based on standardised XML-technology over the web to reduce transport costs.
