Amsterdam, 12 oktober 2017 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), leverancier van opensourceoplossingen, en Alibaba Cloud, de cloud computing divisie van Alibaba Group (NYSE:BABA), kondigen aan dat ze gaan samenwerken om de wereldwijde klanten van Alibaba Cloud te kunnen voorzien van de kracht en flexibiliteit van de opensourceoplossingen van Red Hat.
Alibaba Cloud maakt nu deel uit van het Red Hat Certified Cloud & Service Provider Program, en sluit zich aan bij een groep technologieleiders die door Red Hat-geteste en gevalideerde oplossingen aanbieden en de functionaliteit aanvullen van het uitgebreide portfolio van opensourcecloudoplossingen. Door de samenwerking wordt de beschikbaarheid van Red Hat’s oplossingen in de beste publieke clouds wereldwijd uitgebreid. Daarmee is het een schaalbare bestemming voor cloud computing en het bevestigt de inzet van Red Hat om meer keuze in de cloud te bieden.
In de komende maanden zullen de oplossingen van Red Hat direct beschikbaar zijn voor klanten van Alibaba Cloud. Ze kunnen dan profiteren van het brede portfolio met opensoucecloudoplossingen van Red Hat. Alibaba Cloud wil Red Hat Enterprise Linux aanbieden in een pay-as-you-go-model in de Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.
Door zich bij het Red Hat Certified Cloud & Service Provider Program aan te sluiten, is Alibaba Cloud een bestemming voor Red Hat-klanten, onafhankelijke softwareverkopers (ISV’s) en partners, die kunnen profiteren van de producten van Red Hat in publieke clouds. Deze worden geleverd onder innovatieve gebruik- en servicemodellen, en met het vertrouwen dat Red Hat-productdeskundigen de oplossingen hebben gevalideerd. Het Red Hat Certified Cloud en Service Provider-programma is in 2009 geïntroduceerd en ontworpen om de oplossingen te bieden die cloud-providers nodig hebben voor het plannen, bouwen, beheren en aanbieden van gehoste cloud-oplossingen en Red Hat-technologieën aan klanten. De status Certified Cloud Provider wordt toegekend aan partners na validatie door Red Hat. Elke aanbieder voldoet aan test- en certificeringsvereisten om aan te tonen dat hij een veilige, schaalbare, ondersteunde en consistente omgeving kan leveren voor enterprise cloudimplementaties.
Verder krijgen klanten van Red Hat de komende maanden de mogelijkheid om ongebruikte Red Hat-abonnementen met behulp van
Red Hat Cloud Access over te zetten van hun datacenter naar Alibaba Cloud, de grootste openbare cloud service provider van China. Red Hat Cloud Access is een innovatief ‘bring-your-own-subscription’-voordeel dat verkrijgbaar is via geselecteerde Red Hat Certified Cloud en Service Providers waarmee klanten hun Red Hat-abonnementen van on-premise naar publieke clouds kunnen verplaatsen. Red Hat Cloud Access biedt klanten ook de mogelijkheid om een directe relatie met Red Hat te onderhouden, inclusief de mogelijkheid om volledige ondersteuning te krijgen van de bekroonde Global Support Services-organisatie van Red Hat. Hierdoor houden klanten een consistent niveau van dienstverlening voor al hun gecertificeerde hybride implementatie-infrastructuren.
