ROCHESTER, NY, July 5, 2002 - Eastman Kodak Company announced its new high-tech home in Germany's Cologne Messe for the September 2002 photokina trade show, the world's largest bi-annual trade fair for the photographic and imaging sector. Kodak, one of the largest exhibitors, will house its consumer, digital and professional photography units all in a single exhibit location, Hall 4. In previous years at photokina, Hall 8 has been Kodak's main exhibit space along with various locations throughout the trade show venue.
Hall 4 is one of the largest exhibit spaces at photokina this year and represents an increase of over 30% in floor space compared to previous years. In addition, the modern design and enhanced technology features in Hall 4 will serve as a great backdrop to underscore Kodak's infoimaging leadership role.
The new, single venue also conveys the full scope of Kodak's "Share Moments. Share Life." campaign, which is the central theme at photokina this year. The theme reminds consumers how important it is to not only capture memories, but also to share them. It also communicates the powerful emotional benefits of photography and the impact of sharing a great picture on both the giver and the receiver.
"We are very pleased with our new home as it allows Kodak to showcase the breadth and depth of our product and service range, as well as illustrate our leadership in every stage of the photographic experience from capture to output," said Martin Coyne II, Group Executive, Photography, and an executive vice president with the company. "The modern design of Hall 4 further reinforces to our customers Kodak's leadership in the convergence of imaging and information technology."
Kodak will use Hall 4 as a focal point to communicate the latest developments in the photography industry to its customers, retailers, distributors, consumers and all photokina attendees. Encad, a Kodak subsidiary who produces large format ink jet products for commercial use, will share Kodak's new exhibit space this year.
Hall 4 is one of the most centrally located halls at the Cologne Messe, serving as a bridge between the older Fairground sections, Halls 1-8, and the newer ones, Halls 9-14. Hall 4 is also directly adjacent to the International Press Center and the Fairground's major plaza, AUENPLATZ,
and close to the Congress Center.
In addition to its physical space, Kodak has a significant presence in the overall trade show program. Kodak will host and organize a series of lectures, seminars and workshops throughout the six-day event. Kodak will also host "Kodak Press Day," a one-day open house for all media attendees, when the Kodak booth will be fully operational and open exclusively to journalists. It will take place on September 24, 2002,
one day prior to the photokina opening day.
