WAGENINGEN, JANUARY 18 - Data safety is a pressing issue that requires much attention. Data breaches and hacks are damaging for brand reputation and have a great financial impact. With the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union, companies can be fined for not actively protecting company and customer data.
ERP Security, a Dutch SAP Development Partner, has launched a software solution to monitor the vulnerabilities of SAP systems. Based on thorough scans and analyses of SAP systems, Protect4S reports vulnerability details and generates a mitigation report that shows which actions need to be taken to reduce security risks. The software is an important add-on to SAP systems to assure the safety of the system as well as all business-critical data.
False sense of security
Joris van de Vis, Co-founder of ERP Security, warns that most companies are still unaware of the safety risks of their SAP systems. “Many people believe that compliancy with standard safety regulations is the same as being fully protected against hacks or data breaches. This misconception creates a false sense of security and increases the need for actively monitoring the vulnerabilities of your systems,” says Van de Vis.
Control the risks
Controlling the security risks of SAP systems should be an ongoing process. Van de Vis: “The mitigation reports we produce list all vulnerabilities within the system in order of highest risk level combined with the least time and effort required to resolve the problem.
