Utrecht, june 2002 — Mercury Interactive Corporation (Nasdaq: MERQ), the leading provider of enterprise testing and application performance management software, today announced that it has appointed Clyde Ostler, to its Board of Directors, effective May 31, 2002. Mr. Ostler is Group Executive Vice President of Wells Fargo’s Internet Services Group. He is responsible for the online businesses of Wells Fargo & Co.

Mr. Ostler has been with Wells Fargo since 1971, where he has held various positions including chief financial officer, vice chairman of Wells Fargo Bank and head of the Wells Fargo Investment Group. He was honored by Institutional Investor as one of the top two e-finance innovators in 2001 and again in 2002. Mr. Ostler serves on the Board of Directors for Barra, and for The Exploratorium. He is also on the Director’s Advisory Council for Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
