Amsterdam – June 5, 2002 – BackStream, the leading provider of content management and distribution systems which support content billing, announced today that its CTO, Erik van Eykelen, will speak at the Narrowcast & Broadband 2002 event on Thursday, June 6th in Paris.
Speaking on the topic “Content on the Go: Displaying Location-Based Content on Trams in Antwerp”, Mr. van Eykelen will discuss how displaying content in public transportation vehicles can create opportunities to generate revenue for transportation companies, content producers, advertisers and interactive service providers. Mr. van Eykelen will describe the technology BackStream developed which enables Falcom, a Belgian client, to display continuously-updated content on trams in Antwerp. The BackStream-built system displays localized news and sports headlines, weather reports, music videos and advertising. The system is the first of its kind in Belgium.
