Riverbed® Technology is voor het tweede achtereenvolgende jaar opgenomen in het leiderskwadrant van
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD) 2015. Volgens Gartner zijn leiders leveranciers die in de NPMD-markt vooroplopen, waaronder leveranciers met complete portfolio’s en ondersteuning voor verschillende applicaties en technologieën. Riverbed is ook erkend als leider in
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers 2014.

NPMD-tools bieden de breedte en diepte die nodig zijn voor het analyseren van SNMP-, flow- en packet-data. De NPMD-markt is naar schatting goed voor 1,1 miljard dollar en het snelst groeiende segment binnen de totale netwerkbeheermarkt (1,9 miljard dollar). Er is enige overlap met de Application Performance Monitoring-markt (2,4 miljard dollar in 2013).
