Amstelveen, Netherlands, November 2013 –Software developer SRC Secure Solutions launched its latest product iUserManager for simplified management of user profiles of banking systems which at the same time can be used for management of user profiles on IBM i, iMenu400 and Olympic® *) (other banking applications are also foreseen). With this new standard application the software company fills a need for users of the Olympic® banking system to simplify maintenance of user profiles in all the tables in which users must be registered. iUserManager includes functionality for security, auditing, authorisation, management and reporting and is deployed effectively to meet compliance requirements, for example by offering ‘dual control’ security and logging.
SRC has developed iUserManager at the request of one of the world's largest banks. This commercial bank deploys the Olympic® banking system, which runs on IBM i for their offshore affiliates in Belgium, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore and others. The IBM i platform has proven to be a technical and cost beneficial solution for running banking systems.
iUserManager currently provides an interface for the management of iMenu400, IBM i and Olympic® user profiles and is designed in such a way that other applications can easily be added in the future. In iUserManager, management of the different types of user profiles takes place within a single application and a single user interface. At the same time, iUserManager supports an organisation in meeting compliance regulations such as SOX.
An important feature of iUserManager is the possibility to apply an extra layer of security according to the 'segregation or duties' concept, which means always that two people are involved in executing and authorising a task. This authorisation process ensures that any change by an administrator in iUserManager must be approved by another. Every action taken by user profile administrators and their approvers is logged to provide a full audit trail.
The use of templates when creating user profiles ensures that these profiles always meet the requirements for that particular application. It also offers ease of use, since copies based on the same conditions can be created simply and because template changes can be applied to all related user profiles in one action.
In the past months iUserManager has been tested in production in a number of environments and iUserManager has been launched for general use.
