Enigmatry uit Rotterdam realiseert voor het Ministerie van OCW een nieuw subsidiemanagement portaal voor de cultuursector. Dit portaal biedt ontvangers van subsidies de mogelijkheid zich jaarlijks online te verantwoorden; zij vullen daarvoor vragenformulieren in en leveren naast een activiteitenoverzicht daarbij onder meer financiële jaarresultaten aan. Medewerkers van het ministerie kunnen als beheerder inloggen en de ingediende verantwoordingen inzien en beoordelen. In de tweede fase zal dit portaal ook de mogelijkheid bieden om initiële aanvragen voor subsidies te in te dienen.
Versnelde formulierenontwikkeling en duurzamere oplossing
Omdat formulieren een centrale rol spelen in het portaal en de mogelijkheid tot aanpassing van formulieren van groot belang is, ging Enigmatry op zoek naar een formulierenserver die de gewenste flexibiliteit kon bieden en stuitte daarbij op de Smartsite XForms Server and Workbench. Deze maakt gebruik van de W3C standaard XForms, een applicatieonafhankelijke standaard voor het definiëren van formulieren. Dankzij deze standaard kan Enigmatry formulieren applicatie-onafhankelijk ontwikkelen. Men gebruikt daarbij de bijbehorende Workbench, die ontwikkelaars in staat stelt snel formulieren te bouwen, te testen en debuggen.
De XForms Engine and Workbench wordt door andere organisaties onder meer ingezet in gemeentelijke digitale loketten, in huurdersportalen van woningcorporaties en dus nu ook in een subsidieportaal om de selfservice mogelijkheden te vergroten en waar mogelijk de koppeling tussen webintake en achterliggende systemen direct tot stand te brengen.

Dutch government department uses smart forms

Enigmatry from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is developing a grants management portal for the Dutch government Department of Education, Culture and Science. This portal offers the recipients of grants the opportunity to be accountable; they may complete extensive questionnaires and provide an overview of activities as well as annual financial results. Department staff may then access the system as administrators and review the submitted reports and approve them. In the second phase this portal will also provide the possibility for the initial application of grants.
Accelerated forms development and sustainable solution
Because forms play such a central part in the portal and the need to modify forms in future years will be crucial, Enigmatry started looking for a forms server that would offer the required flexibility and in its research found the Smartsite XForms Server and Workbench. This tool implements the W3C standard XForms, an application-independent standard for the specification of forms. Thanks to this standard Enigmatry can develop forms application-independent. They do this using the accompanying Workbench, which enables developers to rapidly build forms, test and debug them.
The XForms Engine and Workbench is used by other organizations as well, for instance in e-government applications, in portals for renters of housing associations and now in a grants management portal in order to increase self-service possibilities and, if at all possible, to create a direct link between web intake and back-end systems.
