LAS VEGAS/AMSTERDAM - 16 oktober 2012 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), leverancier van opensourceoplossingen, kondigt vandaag nieuwe integratiemogelijkheden aan voor SAP-oplossingen als onderdeel van
The JBoss Way, een methode voor ontwikkelaars om op een productievere en makkelijkere manier moderne applicaties te ontwikkelen. De samenwerking beoogt de interoperabiliteit tussen Red Hat- en SAP-oplossingen te verbeteren. Tevens wordt het eenvoudiger om gegevens van SAP-applicaties en bedrijfsprocessen van Red Hat’s JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform, JBoss Enterprise Data Services Platform of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform te verwerken.
“De reeds lange samenwerking tussen Red Hat en SAP verloopt voorspoedig en de integratie tussen technologieën van beide bedrijven is een goed voorbeeld van waar The JBoss Way voor is ontworpen”, zegt Craig Muzilla, vice president en general manager, Middleware bij Red Hat. “Het doel van deze integratie is een meer intelligente, geïntegreerde enterprise te realiseren. De integratie vindt plaats via SAP NetWeaver® Gateway technologie. Die biedt een eenvoudige manier om op open standaarden gebaseerde apparaten, omgevingen en platformen te verbinden met SAP-software. Daarbij maakt het niet uit welke programmeertaal of welk model wordt gebruikt en hoeft men ook geen kennis te hebben van SAP-oplossingen doordat gebruikgemaakt wordt van REST diensten en OData en/of ATOM protocollen.
“SAP en Red Hat ondersteunen beide open standaarden, zoals HTML5, REST en OData, en bundelen vaak krachten in op standaarden gebaseerde consortia”, zegt Adi Kavalar, vice president, Product Management bij SAP. “De ondersteuning van SAP-oplossingen in het JBoss Enterprise Middleware portfolio – voor het gebruik van SAP NetWeaver Gateway-provisioned, REST-based OData services – benadrukt onze samenwerking in de open community en is een bemoedigende stap voor klanten en ontwikkelaars.”
The JBoss Way is geïntroduceerd in juni 2012 en omvat een nieuwe reeks frameworks, tools en architectuurontwerpen gericht op het verbeteren van de productiviteit van ontwikkelaars in het bouwen van moderne applicaties, onder andere voor de cloud. JBoss Enterprise Middleware biedt bedrijven een keuze aan schaalbare frameworks en platformen die nodig zijn om effectieve enterprise Java-applicaties en -diensten te bouwen. Het portfolio omvat een uitgebreide suite van ontwikkel tools om Java-applicaties voor consumenten te bouwen, met inbegrip van diegene die gegevens extraheren uit SAP NetWeaver.
