CareCore National, een internationale organisatie op het gebied van zorgoplossingen, heeft gekozen voor het gebruik van Riverbed’s Application Delivery Controller (ADC) voor de ondersteuning bij de overgang naar een gevirtualiseerde IT-omgeving. De virtuele ADC biedt CareCore de mogelijkheid tot efficiëntere applicatie-ontwikkelprocessen en een hoge performance van hun online informatieaanbod. Dit resulteert voor CareCore in een verbeterde dienstverlening aan ruim 60 miljoen patiënten die afhankelijk zijn van medische informatie.
CareCore voorziet zijn medewerkers, inclusief 1200 callcentermedewerkers en artsen, dagelijks van medische patiëntinformatie via een medische review-applicatie, die is gecentraliseerd in een private cloud-omgeving. Wanneer deze applicatie wordt geraadpleegd zijn gebruiksvriendelijkheid en beschikbaarheid belangrijke vereisten. Om tegemoet te komen aan deze eisen heeft CareCore een flexibele en snelle IT-omgeving nodig. Daarom heeft de healtcare-organisatie gekozen voor een gevirtualiseerde IT-omgeving om flexibiliteit te creëren die nodig is voor de ontwikkeling en ondersteuning van meer dan 500 workload-applicaties.
Na een uitgebreide selectieprocedure met verschillende leveranciers voor het ondersteunen en optimaliseren van applicaties in een gevirtualiseerde omgeving heeft CareCore gekozen voor Riverbed. Met Riverbed’s virtuele ADC heeft CareCore een goede combinatie gevonden voor de ondersteuning van snelle en flexibele transities naar een gevirtualiseerde IT-omgeving. Dit stelt CareCore in staat om applicaties efficiënt te ontwikkelen terwijl er tevens een gepersonaliseerde aanpak voor de dienstverlening aan patiënten wordt geboden.
