Gouda, 4 april, 2012 – De NETGEAR Genie applicatie die al beschikbaar is voor desktops van PC en Mac, is nu ook te krijgen als app voor smartphones en tablets (iOS en Android) in de Apple App Store en de Google Play Store. Met deze app kan de gebruiker het thuisnetwerk op een compatible router makkelijk monitoren, beheren en herstellen vanaf de smartphone en tablet.
De mobiele app kent een eenvoudig dashboard dat makkelijk toegang geeft tot de features van de NETGEAR WiFi routers. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de functie voor ouderlijk toezicht, het gastnetwerk of een overzicht van het breedbandgebruik. De app bevat ook een map die een grafische weergave geeft van het volledige thuisnetwerk en waarmee op een makkelijke manier onwelkome apparatuur van buren die inloggen op jouw netwerk kunnen worden geblokkeerd of geïdentificeerd.
Met de MyMedia feature, verandert Genie Mobile de smartphone of tablet in een DLNA-controller. Dit houdt in dat de gebruiker video’s, muziek en foto’s op het eigen netwerk kan opzoeken en door kan sturen naar Connected TV’s en andere DLNA-apparatuur (Digital Living Network Alliance) op het netwerk. De NETGEAR Genie app met MyMedia maakt daarnaast van elke smartphone en tablet een mediacontroller, mediaspeler en server. De NETGEAR Genie heeft de CES 2012 Innovations Design en Engineering Award gewonnen en is hiermee de eerste software-oplossing van NETGEAR die in de prijzen valt.

De NETGEAR Genie app is gratis te downloaden in de Apple App Store en Google Play Store. De app werkt samen met de meeste NETGEAR WiFi routers, die te verkrijgbaar zijn bij de bekende retailers en etailers. Zie
