At its annual PartnerDirect Solutions Conference in Barcelona, Dell today announced that its EMEA channel partners will be able to offer Dell’s range of pre-built and ready to run virtualization solutions, vStart. Dell vStart is a pre-sized, pre-validated virtual infrastructure solution that includes all of the infrastructure (server, storage, network, rack, cabling and power), software (hypervisors, essential management console plug-ins), needed to run virtual machines.
Partners will initially be able to offer vStart to customers with deployment and setup delivered by Dell’s award winning professional services arm. However, a Co-Delivery option, which enables to certify and deploy vStart themselves, will be made available in early 2012.
“With cost containment still a business priority, virtualization has increasingly become backed by executive support making it an extremely lucrative and fast-growing business for partners,” said Kathy Schneider, Executive Director, Channel Marketing & Programs Europe at Dell. “Dell vStart gives partners an extremely simple and effective way of delivering virtualization – partners without virtualization expertise can benefit from Dell doing all of the heavy-lifting involved in sizing, configuration and deployment. For partners with significant virtualization expertise vStart allows them to save time and effort on the basics and concentrate on delivering value-add further up the stack.”
vStart 100 and 200 – preconfigured to support 100 and 200 virtual machines respectively – will be available to channel partners on November 8th 2011.
PartnerDirect Solutions Conference is attended by senior decision makers and business leaders from Dell’s community of over 580 Premier and Preferred Partners in EMEA.
