(NYSE: RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, introduceert vandaag OpenShift, een Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) voor ontwikkelaars die op open source bouwen. Red Hat OpenShift herdefinieert de PaaS-markt door ontwikkelaars keuze te bieden in programmeertalen, frameworks en clouds om hun applicaties te bouwen, testen, laten draaien en beheren. Voortbouwend op Red Hat’s uitgebreide JBoss-expertise voorziet OpenShift de PaaS-markt van innovatieve features, waaronder CDI, en ondersteuning voor Java EE 6. Red Hat OpenShift biedt meer flexibiliteit dan elke andere PaaS door het ondersteunen van meer development frameworks voor Java, Python, PHP en Ruby, waaronder Spring, Seam, Weld, CDI, Rails, Rack, Symfony, Zend Framework, Twisted, Django en Java EE. Het omvat zowel SQL en NoSQL data stores en een gedistribueerd bestandssysteem. Door op de Deltacloud interoperabiliteitsstandaard te bouwen, kunnen ontwikkelaars hun applicaties laten draaien via elke ondersteunde Red Hat Certified Public Cloud Provider. Hierdoor wordt de lock-in, die in verband wordt gebracht met de eerste generatie PaaS-leveranciers, geëlimineerd.
