Riverbed, de IT performance company, vergroot de mogelijkheden van zijn Cloud Steelhead™ wide area network (WAN)-optimalisatie-oplossing, met de toevoeging van de op ESX-gebaseerde public cloud-diensten. Tegelijkertijd breidt Riverbed hun samenwerking uit met cloud-dienstverleners voor de Cloud Steelhead, waardoor klanten meer vrijheid hebben in de keuze voor het migreren van data en diensten naar de public cloud.
Bij het verplaatsen van data en applicaties naar de public cloud lopen organisaties veelal tegen performance-uitdagingen aan die worden veroorzaakt door latency- en bandbreedtebeperkingen. Om deze beperkingen weg te nemen biedt de Cloud Steelhead een gelijkwaardige performance die Riverbed-klanten verwachten wanneer zij over willen stappen naar de public cloud. De Cloud Steelhead is eenvoudig te installeren en is schaalbaar binnen de public cloud-omgeving en verbetert de performance voor applicaties die binnen de cloud worden gehost. Daarnaast versnelt de datamigratie naar de cloud. De Cloud Steelhead-gebruikers ervaren een aanzienlijke verbetering in hun applicatieperformance en ondervinden een datareductie van 98 procent.
