Amersfoort, 17 november 2010 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, kondigt vandaag de beschikbaarheid aan van Red Hat Network Satellite 5.4. Deze nieuwste versie van Red Hat’s systeemmanagementoplossing biedt software-updates, configuratie management en monitoring van zowel fysieke als virtuele Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. Red Hat Network Satellite 5.4 biedt compliance verbeteringen, meer flexibiliteit in content management en het beheer van abonnementen is verbeterd. Bovendien ondersteunt de software het beheer van het onlangs gelanceerde Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Red Hat Network Satellite is een systeem management platform dat IT-organisaties in staat stelt Red Hat Enterprise Linux efficiënt te beheren. Het is een toonaangevende oplossing die Red Hat Enterprise Linux-systemen optimaliseert zodat ze goed beveiligd zijn, efficiënt werken en voldoen aan diverse standaarden. Verbeteringen in Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite 5.4 zijn:
- De toevoeging van SELinux ondersteuning aan het RHN Satellite configuratie management vergemakkelijkt het gebruik van RHN Satellite.
- Nieuwe rapportagemogelijkheden voor audits en compliance-gerelateerde activiteiten.
- Gefaseerde deployment planning, waardoor duizenden systemen kunnen worden geüpdatet.
- Ondersteuning in het toevoegen en beheren van content repositories van derden zodat een meer geautomatiseerde omgeving wordt gerealiseerd met minder handmatige interactie en kans op fouten.
- Nieuwe FlexGuest rechten ten aanzien van ondersteuning op virtuele systemen.
Red Hat Network Satellite 5.4 is vandaag wereldwijd beschikbaar voor klanten met een Red Hat abonnement.
