De ‘Zuidtoren’ is ontworpen door het internationale architectenbureau Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates International. Het betreft de laatste ontwikkeling ter voltooiing van het gebied rondom het NS station in Hoofddorp, waarbij veel aandacht is geschonken aan waterpartijen en groenvoorzieningen.
