Riverbed Technology, de IT-infrastructure performance company voor netwerken, applicaties en storage, heeft onlangs bekend gemaakt dat Riverbed WAN-optimalisatie VMware vSphere™ 4 ondersteunt. Deze samenwerking maakt het voor organisaties mogelijk om processen sneller uit te rollen, migreren en applicaties te beveiligen die draaien in enterprise privé-clouds.
Riverbed WAN-optimalisatie verbetert de VMware vSphere™ 4-omgevingen op verschillende manieren:
- Acceleratie en optimalisatie van informatiestromen vanuit privé-clouds – gebouwd op VMware vSphere™ 4 – maakt het voor organisaties mogelijk om processen snel uit te rollen, migreren en op cloud gebaseerde werkzaamheden te beveiligen over het WAN
- Het versnellen van applicatie- en server-consolidatie in de cloud, terwijl de performance van de eindgebruiker wordt behouden. Dit zorgt voor een grotere ROI bij virtualisatieprojecten
- Een verbetering van de back-up- en replicatie-tijden terwijl het verbruik van WAN-bandbreedte afneemt en tegelijkertijd zorgt voor een betere databeveiliging in een virtuele omgeving.

Sindsdien werkt Riverbed nauw samen met VMware. Riverbed moedigt Riverbed Technology Alliance (RTA)-partners aan om lid te worden van het VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP)-programma.
