(NYSE:RHT), marktleider in opensourceoplossingen, maakt vandaag bekend dat Dr. Robert Sutor, Vice President Open Source en Linux bij IBM Software Group, de keynote zal verzorgen op de Red Hat Summit in Chicago. Deze zal plaatsvinden van 1 tot 4 september aanstaande. Sutor gaat in op de invloed van Linux in velerlei apparaten, uiteenlopend van polshorloges, mobiele telefoons en netbooks tot desktops, RISC-gebaseerde computers en mainframes.

Sutor, die reeds 26 jaar bij IBM werkzaam is, is verantwoordelijk voor de IBM-strategie, het verkoopbeleid en de technische pre-sales voor het gebruik van software op Linux en andere opensourceomgevingen. Hij werkt met klanten, partners, leidinggevenden uit de overheid, analisten en media om de waarde van het gebruik van bedrijfskritische open source en Linux te begrijpen. Sutor is ook verantwoordelijk voor het aansturen en uitvoeren van bedrijfsstrategieën en beleid voor open standaarden. Hij is co-auteur van verscheidene boeken, heeft plaatsgenomen in de Board of Directors van de OASIS standards Group en was vicevoorzitter van ebXML effort, een gecombineerd OASIS/ United Nations initiatief.
