Riverbed Named 2009 SSPA STAR Award Recipient For Customer Support

Industry Awards Recognize Stellar Service and Support Delivery in the Technology Industry

Riverbed Technology (Nasdaq: RVBD), the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, today announced it has been awarded the 2009 STAR Award for Best Practices in Emerging Company Support by the Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA), an industry association for technology service and support professionals.

The STAR Awards acknowledge the contribution of companies of all sizes to the continual improvement of industry-wide service and support delivery. Riverbed® was recognized for its service and support program development, implementation and benchmarking in the Best Emerging Company Support category. The SSPA award program includes a rigorous review process led and judged by industry peers. The judging committee, overseen by the SSPA Advisory Board, evaluates criteria including customer support center responsiveness, web self-service, product supportability, proactive service offerings, and customer and business impacts.

“Today's highly volatile economy makes for an extremely competitive marketplace in which best practices can make or break the bottom-line performance of a service and support organization,” said Stephen Smith, executive director of the SSPA. “The awards presented an intense competition, and all of the companies nominated for the Spring STAR Awards deserve credit for raising the bar among their peers.”

Winners were honored at the Technology Services World (TSW) conference in Silicon Valley, produced by the SSPA, the Association for Services Management International (AFSMI), and the Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA). Technology Services World 2009 Silicon Valley is the largest gathering of service executives and management in the industry.
