Hilversum, 14 mei 2009 – Het IP DECT-portfolio van NEC Philips voor draadloze communicatie is onlangs uitgebreid. De nieuwe functionaliteit omvat broadcast messaging, waarmee groepen DECT-gebruikers snel kunnen worden geïnformeerd omtrent calamiteiten en voorziet in uitgebreide statusinformatie van de DECT toestellen en infrastructuur die onderdeel uitmaken van een netwerk. Dit alles draagt bij tot snelle en gegarandeerde gegevensoverdracht en tot certificering van ontruimingsinstallaties conform de NEC 2575 norm voor brandveiligheid.
De NEN 2575-normering legt vast aan welke eisen ontruimingsinstallaties moeten voldoen om bij brand of andere calamiteiten een snelle en efficiënte ontruiming mogelijk te maken. Met deze norm zijn regels gedefinieerd ten aanzien van ontwerp, uitvoering, comptabiliteit en kwaliteit van de producten. Daarnaast zijn er ook regels betreft de wijze van installeren en bekabelen.
In Nederland zijn in de NEN 2575:2004 de systeem- en kwaliteitseisen en projecterings-richtlijnen voor ontruimingsalarminstallaties vastgelegd. Deze norm beschrijft ontruimingsalarminstallaties met stil alarm via een personenzoekinstallatie (PZI) op basis van paging systemen.
DECT-systemen van NEC Philips bieden echter veel voordelen t.o.v. paging systemen en worden in Nederland daarom veel gebruikt. Ze zijn dan ook door de bevoegde autoriteit geaccepteerd op basis van interpretatie van verschillende hoofdstukken uit de NEN 2575 norm en de eisen van de plaatselijke preventie officier.
