Hoofddorp, 17 oktober 2008 – Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (Euronext Amsterdam: SAYE, NYSE: SAY), wereldwijd dienstverlener op het gebied van advies en IT, maakt de bedrijfsresultaten bekend van het tweede kwartaal van boekjaar 2009, dat eindigde op 30 september 2008. De omzet bedroeg 652,2 miljoen dollar, een stijging van 28 procent ten opzichte van hetzelfde kwartaal van vorig boekjaar. Ten opzichte van het eerste kwartaal van het boekjaar 2009 steeg de omzet met 2,3 procent.
Satyam realiseerde een nettowinst van 132,3 miljoen dollar. Dit is een stijging van 29,8 procent ten opzichte van hetzelfde kwartaal van het vorige boekjaar en een stijging van 4,5 procent ten opzichte van het vorige kwartaal. De winst per aandeel kwam uit op 39 dollarcent, een stijging van 25,8 procent ten opzichte van hetzelfde kwartaal van het boekjaar 2008 en een stijging van 2,6 procent ten opzichte van het eerste kwartaal van boekjaar 2009. De operationele marge (EBIT) bedroeg 20,33 procent.
“Het tweede kwartaal van boekjaar 2009 kende uitdagingen op meerdere vlakken. HYDERABAD, India, October 17, 2008: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE: SAY), a leading global consulting and information technology services company, today reported US GAAP results for its second quarter, which ended Sept. 30, 2008.
Consolidated Indian GAAP HighlightsThe highlights of the results for the quarter under Indian GAAP Consolidated basis are:
- Revenue was Rs.2819.29 crore; a YoY increase of 38.8 % and a sequential increase of 7.6 %.
- Net Profit after Tax was Rs. 580.9 crore; a YoY increase of 42.0 % and a sequential increase of 6.1 %.
- EPS for Q2 2009 was Rs. 8.63; a YoY increase of 41.0 % and a sequential increase of 5.8 %.
- EBITDA margin for the quarter was 23.1 %
“The second quarter was challenging in many respects, as problems in the US financial industry affected other regions and sectors,” said Satyam Chairman and Founder B. US GAAP HighlightsThe highlights of the results under US GAAP are:
- Revenue was US$ 652.2 mn; up 28.0 % YoY and 2.3 % sequentially.
- Net Income was $ 132.3 mn; YoY increase of 29.8 % and a sequential increase of 4.5 %.
- Basic earnings per ADS for the quarter was US$ 0.39; increase of 25.8 % YoY and up 2.6 % sequentially.
- Operating margins (EBIT) for the quarter was 20.33 %.

Basic earning per ADS* for fiscal 2009 is expected to be between US$ 1.47 and US$ 1.50, implying a growth rate of 17.6 % to 20.0 % over fiscal 2008
