Milanello, 14 February 2008 – A.C. Milan and Microsoft announce a partnership in the name of technology. The two companies, thanks to their respective leaderships in the fields of sport and information technology, realize the new IT infrastructure of Milan Lab, the only Scientific Research Centre in the world owned by a football club designed to optimize and maintain the level of excellence of the athletes’ psychophysical performance.
Milan Lab was established in 2002 and its core mission is to safeguard the psychophysical wellbeing of each single football player.
The data gathering and processing system works through a technological infrastructure capable of processing the saved data according to the performance and excellence profile of the athletes and their injuries. The purpose is to determine the isolable and objective factors which contribute for the main part to the occurring of certain “events of risk” for the football player in order to have the possibility of intervening in light of reliable and controllable forecasts. The gathered information will be then accessible in a simple and intuitive way through the creation of “control panels” able of communicating at a glance the condition of the team and of the single player. The access to these data will be granted also via intelligent phone or smart phones.
The Research Centre requires then cutting edge software systems able of allowing the gathering and the accurate analysis of all the data of the athletes. Thanks to Microsoft software, the whole IT system of Milan Lab will be strengthen to push to the utmost the access and sharing of data in order to obtain always more advanced results.
With the integration of Microsoft software like Windows Server System e SQL Server, the Milan Lab IT infrastructure will become even more safe and manageable, while Office System 2007 will improve joint work and data communication. Finally, thanks to the new Office Performance Point Server, the Centre will be provided with an application in the forefront to monitor, analyze and plan the information about athletes’ conditions.
