Onset Technology Announces New METAmessage Applications Manager Features for BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Browser-Based Management Console with Role-Based Administration and More Now Available for BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Boston, MA (February 14, 2008) - Onset Technology, a leading software developer, today announced a key upgrade to the popular METAmessage Applications Manager for BlackBerry® Enterprise Server.
METAmessage Applications Manager is a management tool for BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrators. It offers management capabilities for deploying data applications to large numbers of BlackBerry® smartphone users within an enterprise.
The upgraded METAmessage Applications Manager introduces a Browser-Based Administration Console, enabling administrators to securely configure the Applications Manager from any PC behind the corporate firewall. In addition, responding to the needs of large enterprises with hierarchies of IT staff, the Applications Manager also adds Role-Based Administration, restricting administrators to making changes only to smartphones for which they are responsible. Along with these enhancements come improved BlackBerry Smartphone Inventory Management Reports and BlackBerry Enterprise Server Activity Reports.
Zack Silbinger, Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Marketing at Onset said: "As IT departments in large organizations are increasingly becoming centralized they need to manage infrastructure in remote locations. The addition of a Browser-Based console with Role-Based Administration addresses this critical requirement of our customer base."
In addition to Applications Manager, METAmessage products include: Emergency Communications, an out-of-the-box solution that turns existing smartphone deployments into emergency communications networks; Paging, a solution that allows organizations to leverage smartphone deployments as pager replacements, thereby allowing employees to carry only one device; and Professional, which enables BlackBerry smartphone users to access documents located on office networks, printing anywhere, and custom message alerts.
