‘s Hertogenbosch, 29 november 2007 – Siemens PLM Software, een divisie van Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) en aanbieder van software en diensten voor product lifecycle management (PLM), levert zijn Teamcenter®-software aan Alenia Aeronautica. Na een uitgebreid evaluatieproces koos de Italiaanse luchtvaartspecialist Teamcenter als zijn Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)-portfolio. Het vervangt de bestaande oplossing en een aantal legacy systemen van Alenia waarmee de organisatie haar total cost of ownership (TCO) verlaagt.
Alenia Aeronautica gebruikt Teamcenter om alle nieuwe productontwikkelingen en introductieactiviteiten te verenigen in één enkele bron van product- en proceskennis. Dit dicht het gat tussen de afdelingen productontwerp en productie. De aandachtsgebieden van het initiële project zijn directe collaboratie, configuratiebeheer en integratie met productie. Teamcenter laat Alenia Aeronautica technologische en productinformatie snel en gemakkelijk delen met honderden werknemers op verschillende locaties, waardoor de organisatie nieuwe productontwikkelingsactiviteiten kan standaardiseren door de gehele organisatie.
