On the 23rd of November Daxx opened its new offices in Kiev, Ukraine. The office has become the third production centre of the Daxx group and gives Daxx access to highly skilled software engineers in a market that to-date has hardly been tapped.
The new Daxx office is a joint venture with First, a Dutch-owned group with over 15 years experience in the Ukrainian market.
Justus Beek, Business Development Director at Daxx: “Ukraine offers the same advantages as Russia. The educational standards are extremely high compared to countries like India or other East-European countries. Large numbers of physics, mathematics and computer science students graduate from Ukrainian universities each year. The level of graduate studies is high, underpinned by the needs of the country’s high-tech aeronautics and electronics industry. Ukraine has the additional advantage that Europeans do not require a visa so that our offices are really only a 2 hour flight away.”
The First group was started by two Dutchmen who started, amongst others, the first western operational leasing business. The group also has interests in consumer credit and IT services. As a result, the group has a broad production base in Ukraine and knows the country extremely well. Justus Beek: “For First to join Daxx was a logical consequence as they have the people and experience in Ukraine, but were missing access to clients in Europe. This is what Daxx brings them”.
