Hilversum, 17 juli 2007 - NEC Philips Unified Solutions (NEC Philips) introduceert vandaag een nieuwe softwareversie voor de succesvolle Business Mobility IP DECT. Deze nieuwe software zorgt voor een aanzienlijke uitbreiding van de capaciteit en functionaliteit van de draadloze IP telefonie oplossing. Business Mobility IP DECT ondersteunt nu 750 access points en biedt een krachtige centrale directory functionaliteit.
Uitbreiding capaciteit
Met de introductie van de 4.0 software kunnen IP DECT installaties nu 750 access points bedienen, allemaal werkend als één geïntegreerd systeem. Dit biedt grote organisaties de mogelijkheid om al hun medewerkers mobiel te maken. De installatie functioneert als één geïntegreerd systeem dat centraal wordt beheerd. Bovendien wordt de aansluiting, de naadloze handover én ondersteuning aan gebruikers, waar zij zich ook bevinden, gegarandeerd.
Centrale directory
De nieuwe software biedt daarnaast ook een krachtige centrale directory functionaliteit. Hierdoor kunnen medewerkers vanaf hun DECT handset het telefoonboek van de gehele organisatie doorzoeken. De getoonde informatie is altijd up-to-date en identiek aan informatie directories die op andere plaatsen en andere toepassingen van de organisatie worden gebruikt.
IP DECT en SIP DECT – maximale flexibiliteit
Voor de vele bedrijven die tegenwoordig de overstap maken naar een VoIP netwerk biedt NEC Philips’ Business Mobility IP DECT een oplossing die de voordelen van IP-telefonie combineert met de kwaliteiten en faciliteiten van DECT technologie. De beveiligde air-interface biedt perfecte spraakkwaliteit, naadloze handover en ondersteunt het verzenden van korte tekstberichten. Hierdoor wordt organisaties maximale flexibiliteit geboden. Daarnaast kunnen de meest voorkomende DECT (GAP) compatibele handsets worden gebruikt en staat het SIP protocol toe dat het draadloze systeem wordt geïntegreerd met PBX systemen die SIP ondersteunen.
Doordat de access points direct verbinding maken met het LAN is specifieke bekabeling tussen radiostations en de PBX niet meer nodig. In plaats daarvan maakt het DECT access point gebruik van één enkel geconvergeerd spraak- en data netwerk. Om een multi-site organisatie of campus omgeving te voorzien van draadloze telefonie is het voldoende om op verschillende locaties DECT access points te installeren. De noodzaak voor additioneel materiaal komt hierdoor te vervallen.
