Amsterdam, 19 januari 2007 - Volgens de voorlopige jaarcijfers heeft IDS Scheer het boekjaar 2006 afgesloten met een omzetstijging van minstens 11% tot ruim EUR 353 miljoen (EUR 318,1 miljoen in het voorgaande jaar). Hiermee presteert het bedrijf beter dan verwacht. Zowel met het aanbod van producten als met de adviesdiensten heeft IDS Scheer de beoogde groei overtroffen. Met de omzet in licenties voor ARIS, software voor Business Process Management, genereerde de onderneming meer dan EUR 44 miljoen aan inkomsten. Dit cijfer ligt ongeveer 35% hoger dan in het voorgaande jaar (EUR 32,6 miljoen). De inkomsten uit onderhoudsactiviteiten stegen ook met zo'n 35% tot ongeveer EUR 16,4 miljoen (voorgaande jaar: EUR 12,1 miljoen). Het bedrijfsresultaat (EBITA) in het verslagjaar was ongeveer EUR 32,5 miljoen (voorgaande jaar EUR 33,6 miljoen). Hierdoor kwam de EBITA-marge in het boekjaar 2006 uit op 9,2%, een percentage dat tussen de voorspelde 9% en 10% ligt. Door een verbeterd debiteurenbeheer nam de operationele kasstroom toe met meer dan 44% van EUR 11,8 miljoen in het voorgaande jaar tot ten minste EUR 17 miljoen in het boekjaar 2006. Op 31 december 2006 telde IDS Scheer 2.823 medewerkers, een stijging met ruim 300 werknemers ten opzichte van het einde van boekjaar 2005, toen de onderneming 2.514 mensen in dienst had.

IDS Scheer increases sales by 11% to over EUR 353 million and license revenue by 35% to over EUR 44 million - Strongest quarter in the company's history with almost EUR 100 million in sales
Preliminary figures for the 2006 fiscal year and the fourth quarter of 2006
Saarbruecken, January 17, 2007 - Preliminary figures indicate that IDS Scheer AG has closed the 2006 fiscal year with sales up at least 11% to over EUR 353 million (previous year: EUR 318.1 million); thus performing better than anticipated. Both, the product as well as the consulting business lines have outperformed the company's growth guidance. License sales for ARIS, the world's leading software solution for business process management, brought in revenue of more than EUR 44 million; this figure is up approx. 35% on the previous year (previous year: EUR 32.6 million). Revenue from maintenance was also up by around 35% to approx. EUR 16.4 million (previous year: EUR 12.1 million). Earnings before interest, taxes and amortization of intangible assets (EBITA) for the reporting year was approx. EUR 32.5 million (previous year: EUR 33.6 million). As a result, the EBITA margin reached 9.2% in the 2006 fiscal year, placing it within the forecast range of between 9% and 10%. Thanks to stronger receivables management, operating cash flow improved by over 44% from EUR 11.8 million in the previous year to at least EUR 17 million in the 2006 fiscal year. As of December 31, 2006, the number of employees in the company stood at 2823. This represents over 300 more staff employed by the IDS Scheer Group than at the end of the 2005 fiscal year with 2514 employees.
Fourth quarter 2006
The fourth quarter of 2006 saw sales at IDS Scheer AG increase by 13% on the same quarter of the previous year, thus reaching the threshold of EUR 100 million for quarterly sales for the first time in the company's history (previous year - Q4/2005: EUR 87.4 million). The sales of consulting business was higher than expected and in the product business, the growth driver ARIS licenses saw a leap of 65% to approx. EUR 15 million (previous year: EUR 9.2 million). EBITA of IDS Scheer AG was almost EUR 9.0 million (previous year: EUR 9.5 million); more than double the figure of EUR 4.2 million posted in the preceding third quarter. The EBITA margin rose accordingly, increasing from 5.2% in the third quarter of 2006 to almost 9.0% in the reporting quarter (previous year: 10.8%). In the third quarter of 2006, a key feature was the postponement of projects and orders; the one-off effects of the company's realignment made an impact in the fourth quarter of 2006.
Thomas Volk, CEO and President of IDS Scheer AG, remarked: "As of the end of 2006, we have recorded the strongest quarter in the history of IDS Scheer, reaching a key milestone with quarterly sales of almost EUR 100 million. Furthermore, we were able to establish a positive results trend quarter on quarter - more than doubling the result achieved in the preceding third quarter of 2006." Volk went on to state: "We are already seeing the effects of the measures we have implemented to promote centralization and to focus on the ARIS product business and international profitability as well as to strengthen the consulting services. This confirms that we are on the right track with the consistent realignment of the products and consulting business lines and can thus leverage the potential in our global growth markets in an even more focused fashion."
Outlook for 2007
In view of the leading position that IDS Scheer occupies in the market for business process management, and the strong pipeline in the consulting area, the Executive Board is confident that the current growth trend in sales and profits will be continued in the new fiscal year. The company can thus report a positive outlook: IDS Scheer anticipates sales growth of at least 10% and an increase of a full percentage point in the EBITA margin for the 2007 fiscal year.
