Oberursel, 18 december 2006 - RSA, de beveiligingsdivisie van EMC, heeft de technische interoperability tussen Utimaco’s SafeGuard Easy en RSA SecurID technology gecertificeerd. RSA doet dat met het RSA Secured Partner Program. De twee oplossingen zijn door deze goedkeuring technisch compatibel. Bedrijven kunnen hierdoor nog veiliger vertrouwelijke informatie op PC’s en notebooks bewaren.
Door de technische interoperability van deze producten kunnen data maximaal worden beschermd onder het motto ‘something you have, and something you know’. Alleen als iemand beschikt over een PIN die de sleutel van de RSA SecurID SID800 hardware authenticator kan openen, heeft diegene toegang tot de computer en de data die weer wordt beveiligd door de SafeGuard oplossing.
De twee bedrijven hebben nauw samengewerkt om deze technische samenwerking zo effectief mogelijk voor hun klanten tot stand te brengen. “Er zijn meer dan 20 miljoen gebruikers van de RSA SecurID technologie, bij ruim 20.000 organisaties wereldwijd. Deze gebruikers zijn nu in staat om de RSA SecurID SID 800 authenticator te gebruiken en ook veilig in te loggen op SafeGuard Easy,” zegt Helmut Dansachmüller, Head of Strategic Alliances bij Utimaco.

Oberursel, December 18th 2006 - RSA, The Security Division of EMC, has certified through the RSA Secured Partner Program that Utimaco’s SafeGuard Easy solution for hard disk encryption and the RSA SecurID® SID800 hardware authenticator are both technically compatible. Companies can now leverage the joint solution to provide an additional layer of information-centric security in order to further protect sensitive data saved on PCs and notebooks.
Achieving technical interoperability with these products from Utimaco and RSA helps to maximize data protection by applying the principle of "something you have, and something you know". In this manner, only someone with a PIN that unlocks the key stored on the RSA SecurID SID800 hardware authenticator can access the computer and the data protected by SafeGuard Solutions.
The two companies worked closely together within the framework of their technology partnership to provide an effective and certified joint solution to customers. With the joint solution it will be possible to use the proven two-factor authentication mechanism within the RSA SecurID SID800 hardware authenticator for accessing encrypted data through SafeGuard Easy, the market leading hard disk encryption solution.
