Oberursel, 25th September 2006 - After releasing its preliminary results on the 31th August 2006, Utimaco – The Data Security Company – today presented its final results for fiscal year 2005/2006 (1st July 2005 to 30th June 2006). The company has once again continued its positive business development in the last financial year and achieved marked increases in both its revenue and result. Due to the excellent profitability and the positive cashflow of € 6.9 million achieved in fiscal year 2005/2006 (previous year € 5.9 million), the Management Board and Supervisory Board will be proposing payment of a dividend of 15 Eurocents per share for the fiscal year 2005/2006 at the General Meeting for fiscal year 2005/2006, as announced in the ad hoc report of 21st September 2006.
The Personal Device Security division, which specializes in software products that protect data on mobile personal devices and in networks, increased its revenue by 22.2%, to € 32.6 million (previous year € 26.7 million). Here, its SafeGuard product family (licenses and maintenance) showed growth of 25.8%, to € 30.3 million (previous year € 24.1 million). The segment result for this division rose by 60%, to € 11.7 million (previous year € 7.3 million), due to the positive development of the highly-profitable license sales and boosted by a considerable increase in the capitalization of self-developed software in accordance with IAS 38, with an amount of € 3.9 million (previous year € 0.9 million).
The project business, offering solutions for transaction security, grew by 10.9% to € 9.8 million (previous year: € 8.8 million). This included internal revenues of € 0.8 million (previous year € 0.7 million). The segment contribution equalled € 2.6 million (previous year € 3.0 million). Total group revenues equalled € 41.7 million (previous year € 34.8 million), corresponding to a growth in revenues of 19.8%. The region America (USA, Canad, and South America) witnessed especially pleasing developments in which revenues of € 6.7 million were achieved compared to the previous year (€ 3.0 million), with growth more than doubling.
The consolidated operating result (EBIT) increased by 50% to € 8.9 million (previous year € 5.9 million). The EBIT margin improved to 21.3% compared to 17.0% in the previous year. The profit per share (EPS) equalled € 0.55 (previous year € 0.42). After twelve months an operating cashflow of € 11.4 million (previous year € 6.4 million) was achieved. In the reporting period, liquid assets rose by € 6.9 million to € 29.2 million (previous year 22.4 million). As a result Utimaco has available considerable financial resources that form a solid basis for continued successful growth in the future.
The company expects growth to continue in the current fiscal year, 2006/2007, while development and marketing costs will be increased, to extend its market position. When SafeGuard® Enterprise is launched in the market in the first quarter of 2007, this will also bring to an end the positive effect on earnings caused by the capitalization of self-developed software. Nevertheless, the company expects to achieve stable profitability for fiscal year 2006/2007.
