Schiphol-Rijk, 1 augustus 2001 - Microsoft Corp. today announced the general availability of the enterprise, evaluation and developer editions of Microsoft® Content Management Server 2001. Content Management Server 2001 is the Web content management system that enables businesses to quickly and efficiently build, deploy and maintain highly dynamic Internet, intranet and extranet Web sites and is the latest addition to the Microsoft .NET Enterprise Server family.

Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 dramatically reduces the time required to bring Web site applications to market, while offering the scalability needed for the most demanding environments. "Content Management Server is an integrated member of the .NET Enterprise Server family. In particular, it features out-of-the-box integration with Microsoft Commerce Server 2000, enabling customers to deploy personalized and targeted e-commerce sites quickly," Atkinson said.

* Content Management Server 2001 Enterprise Edition. The full-featured licensed version of Content Management Server 2001 is available for a suggested retail price of $39,901 (U.S.) per CPU. * Content Management Server 2001 Evaluation Edition. A full-featured 120-day enterprise version of Content Management Server 2001 is available for download from http://www.microsoft.com/cmserver/evaluation/trial.htm.
* Content Management Server 2001 Developer Edition. The developer edition of Content Management Server is available to MSDN® subscribers at http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/resources/subdwnld.asp. The developer edition will ship with MSDN Universal in October 2001.
More Than 150 Customers
Many early adopter customers are using the upcoming release of Content Management Server 2001 today to power their e-business initiatives. More than 150 customers - including Fujitsu Systems Business of America Inc., Marriott International Inc., The Royal Canadian Mint, Sterling Commerce, Texaco Inc. and Verizon Communications - are using previous versions of the software, formerly known as Ncompass Resolution from Ncompass Labs, to power their mission-critical Web sites. All existing customers will receive a free upgrade to Microsoft Content Management Server 2001.
