The new release of the Surpass solution-portfolio for VoC provides a raft of new features for consumer's premium first-line voice services. It also allows services for small and home offices and features video call applications.
The support of both NCS (Network Call Signaling) and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) opens up new business opportunities for cable operators. In particular, SIP offers a wide range of new applications such as interactive gaming or video applications. Furthermore, by using the more common SIP devices, users can access their cable operator's services anywhere in the world.
The latest release also enables cable operators to address the profitable SOHO market by using the same platform that hosts the consumer services. Small business groups can be administered and hosted, thus giving them access to facilities such as call transfer, group call pick-up and hunting, basic business groups and account codes. In addition, Siemens ensures feature collaboration between SIP and NCS users within the same SOHO group.
Another new feature of the Siemens solution handles interaction between the personal user portal provided by the cable operator and the communication platform. iCPA (Consumer Portal Agent) supports services such as click-to-dial, call logs and call history.
Finally, on top of voice features, Siemens also bundles video services in its portfolio. End users will have the possibility to use video telephony, video conferencing, video mail and video portals, while cable operators will have another attractive differentiator for their offerings.
