Avaya, Juniper Networks Collaborate to Provide Secure, Reliable Intelligent Communications to Distributed Enterprises Delivers comprehensive intelligent communications solutions to enterprise customers worldwide through global reseller and joint marketing agreement BASKING RIDGE, N.J. and SUNNYVALE, CALIF. – Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV) and Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced joint standards-based solutions to deliver secure, reliable intelligent communications to distributed enterprises worldwide.
Delivered as part of the companies’ global alliance agreements, these solutions leverage Avaya’s expertise in enterprise IP telephony and Juniper’s IP networking and security expertise to provide secure, high quality voice, data and converged communications that can help companies protect sensitive data and maintain network integrity and performance.
These solutions include:
- Distributed IP Telephony, providing secure and assured communications across highly distributed organizations, including headquarters and branch offices, that require mission-critical wide area networks (WAN) to support voice, video and data as companies expand their use of business communications applications that drive productivity and deliver competitive advantage;
- Secure IP Telephony on Any Network, enabling customers to add enhanced security, intrusion detection and optimization capabilities needed with the addition of new applications to their existing multi-vendor IP networks.
- Virtual Contact Center, allowing customer care operations to lower costs and increase service by consolidating disparate systems into a single shared IP-based infrastructure connecting worldwide contact centers with branch offices, home agents and headquarters locations;
- Enterprise Mobility, increasing productivity and responsiveness by supporting expanding mobile work-styles, including road warriors, campus roamers and teleworkers, with secure and assured access to applications, any-time, any-where.
These solutions can be enhanced with add-on capabilities that include secure SIP communications, including emerging “SIP trunking” service provider choices, application assurance networking that monitors and controls real-time application traffic across a network, and WAN acceleration that optimizes and compresses network traffic enhancing real-time communications.
The solutions are supported by Avaya Global Services, Avaya’s worldwide services organization. Avaya will be providing comprehensive end to end services for Juniper products. Avaya has targeted having maintenance and implementation in place by February 2006, including training and certifications for many Avaya Global Services engineers. In addition, Avaya Global Services offers IP Network Assessments and IP security assessments in support of distributed IP solutions and branch solutions and collaborative account planning and professional services for customers looking to enhance their applications. Avaya Global Services also offers Remote Managed Services for maintaining and managing IP networks. Avaya Global Services will provide a single point of contact and accountability to assist in the plan, design, implementation and support as well as managed services for customers using Juniper networking products.

Avaya, Juniper solutions enable secure IP telephony networks For St. George Bank, Public Technology Institute
A number of customers around the world are already using solutions from Avaya and Juniper, including St. George Bank in Australia, one of the country’s largest financial institutions, and the Public Technology Institute (PTI), a Washington, D.C.-based industry organization in state and local government.
At St. George Bank, the financial institution deployed a Juniper Networks integrated firewall and virtual private network to secure its corporate network and critical resources, and Avaya Multivantage™ Call Center Solutions, to increase the performance of its two call centers, translating into improved levels of customer service.
