Saarbrücken, January 26, 2006

According to preliminary calculations, IDS Scheer AG increased revenue in fiscal year 2005 by 13% compared to the previous year to EUR 318 million, thereby exceeding its own forecasts. Revenue from licenses for ARIS, the world's leading business process management software solution, grew by 17% to EUR 33 million (previous year: EUR 27.9 million). Preliminary figures for earnings before interests, taxes, and amortization of intangible assets (EBITA) were nearly EUR 33.6 million (previous year: EUR 35.3 million), following the company's planned significant increase in investment activities in 2005. As a result, the EBITA margin is 10.6% (previous year: 12.6%), lying in the top half of the forecast range. IDS Scheer used fiscal year 2005 as it intended: to make great investments in product development and worldwide sales, and to strengthen its leading position in the business process management market. Thus, the number of employees in the IDS Scheer Group was 2,514 as of December 31, 2005, an increase of 18% over the end of 2004 with 2,132 employees.

The Product area, including licenses, maintenance and ARIS-related services, brought in a total of approximately EUR 86 million (previous year: EUR 74.9 million) in fiscal year 2005. In comparison to the previous year this represents an increase of approximately 14%. The Consulting area booked growth of nearly 13% to approximately EUR 232 million. The backlog of orders in the Consulting area increased to EUR 92 million compared with EUR 78 million in the previous year and with EUR 82 million in the preceeding third quarter of 2005.

The international subsidiaries increased revenue (before segment consolidation) by 17% to nearly EUR 198 million (previous year: EUR 169.0 million). International EBITA grew by 18% to nearly EUR 11.4 million and reached a margin of approximately 5.8% after 5.7% in the previous year. The three large international regions of Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe and the Americas achieved double-digit growth rates. The German region booked a revenue (before segment consolidation) of EUR 155 million, representing an increase of 14% over the last year. The German companies achieved EBITA of nearly EUR 22 million (previous year: EUR 25.5 million), representing a decrease of nearly 13% and an EBITA margin of nearly 14% (previous year: 18.7%). The pressure on the domestic margin is particularly due to the planned increased investment in product development, in international and in experienced consultants. Additionally, persistent strong pressure on daily rates is noticeable in Germany.

Because of stringent liability management, IDS Scheer AG's cash flow from operating activities grew to over EUR 11 million. This means a doubling of the previous year's figure of EUR 4.9 million. At the end of fiscal year 2005, cash and cash equivalents amounted to more than EUR 68 million compared to EUR 62.2 million on September 30, 2005 and to EUR 67.6 million at the end of fiscal year 2004.

Amortization of intangible assets in the amount of approximately EUR 2.8 million (previous year: EUR 2.7 million) includes amortization of customer bases in the amount of approximately EUR 1.4 million (previous year: EUR 1.1 million) for fiscal 2005.

Results in the fourth quarter of 2005
In the fourth quarter of 2005 IDS Scheer generated revenue of approximately EUR 87 million (previous year: EUR 81.2 million) posting the strongest quarterly revenue in the history of the company. This represents an increase of nearly 7% in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2004 and a growth rate of over 14% compared to the third quarter of 2005 with EUR 76.7 million. EBITA in the final quarter of 2005 was about EUR 9.5 million, approximately 10% below the previous year's figure of EUR 10.5 million. This translates into an increase of nearly 14% compared to the preceeding third quarter 2005 with revenue of EUR 8.3 million. The EBITA margin was 10.9% compared to 12.9% in the fourth quarter of 2004.

ARIS license volume increased by approximately 8% to EUR 9 million (previous year: EUR 8.4 million) in the last quarter of 2005. During that same period, international revenue (before segment consolidation) increased by nearly 9% to approximately EUR 56 million. International EBITA nearly doubled to approximately EUR 4.2 million in comparison with the previous year's figure (Q4/2004: EUR 2.3 million). Similarly, the EBITA margin grew from 4.4% in the fourth quarter of 2004 to approximately 7.6% in the fourth quarter of 2005. Revenue in Germany for the quarter increased by nearly 1% to almost EUR 40 million. Due to the planned increased investments, EBITA in Germany fell to approximately EUR 5.3 million (previous year: EUR 8.0 million) with an EBITA margin of nearly 13.1% (previous year: 20.4%) in the fourth quarter of 2005.

Forecast
In its stated prognosis for 2005 IDS Scheer anticipated double-digit growth in revenue of 10% to 11% and a double-digit EBITA margin in the range of 10% to 11%. "In fiscal year 2005, we surpassed our revenue forecast and exactly met our prognosis for results," says Helmut Kruppke, CEO and chairman of IDS Scheer. "As planned, we made intensive investments in the expansion of our international sales and consulting network, in the continued development of our ARIS software solution, and in the close cooperation with SAP for the joint marketing and development of SAP NetWeaver. These efforts are necessary in order to take advantage of the future growth potential in the business process management market. With the resulting increased expansion of our product business with ARIS, the worldwide leading business process management solution, we anticipate continuous, above-average increases in revenue and results in the coming years."

For current fiscal year 2006, IDS Scheer anticipates growth in revenue of 9% to 10% and an increase of 0.5 to 1.0 percentage points in the EBITA margin, a trend that will continue in the years to come as a result of the continuous and strong expansion in the Product area.
