Latest version of Websense Web Security and Web Filtering Software Combined with Industry's Leading Software Proxy Solution
Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN), the world's leading provider of employee internet management solutions, and Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW), announced today that the recently released Websense® version 6.1 web security and web filtering software is now available integrated with the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0. New features of Websense v6.1 offer robust security and internet policy enforcement for Sun customers at the internet gateway, on the network, at the desktop, and for the remote web-enabled employee.
Sun Java System Web Proxy Server is high-performance server software for caching and filtering Web content for enterprise customers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Websense Enterprise® v6.1, integrates with Sun's Web Proxy Server to enhance network security by providing IT administrators with the ability to effectively manage internet traffic and report on all network activity. Websense's flexible filtering policy engine provides granular controls to block or allow access to website across over 90 categories of web content, including sites that harbor spyware, mobile malicious code, keyloggers and phishing frauds.
"Websense Enterprise web security software provides a proactive security solution that transparently protects organizations and employees from today's web-based threats," said Steve Kelley, director of Strategic Alliances for Websense, Inc. Secure internet access provided by Websense Remote Filtering not only provides protection for remote users from accessing phishing sites, sites that contain spyware, or sites corrupted with malicious code, but also reduces the cost, downtime, and frustration associated with compromised computers in the field.
